BY PURCHASING, YOU ARE AGREEING TO HAVE READ THIS DESCRIPTION!!!
These are made from USED OR SECOND authentic bourbon barrels, therefore these are VERY rustic in nature! THE STAVES THAT ARE USED HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO BOURBON or DIDN'T make the cut after filling!! The staves will NOT be perfect, there may be cracks, gashes, blemishes, discoloring and imperfections. No two staves look alike. Staves are not even, they are cut with curves and angles which makes it impossible to be completely even or exact when assembled as a dispenser. We hand assemble every dispenser rack and given the unevenness of the stave it may NOT be perfectly even. Some staves may or may NOT have the croze at the top of the stave. (Please refer to the images of the anatomy of a barrel and staves).
We seal the front and sides with an organic tinted wax.
Every stave takes the wax differently, therefore the final finish color can vary from a light brown to a dark brown.
We DO NOT use stain. We do NOT rush our orders. We sand the majority of the char off the back, but leave some of the char and spray a clear coat over it. There will be residue from the wax or charring. The residue is not stain and is due to moisture in the wood from the bourbon or whiskey causing it to sweat. It can be easily taken care of by simply wiping it down if this occurs.
**Please do not leave a review that we shipped it with wet stain!! That is not true!!!
Due to the availability of wide staves, some units may have a half circle missing at the bottom of the unit. This is called the "bung" hole from the barrel. This actually makes these units more unique, in that a barrel only has 1 hole. We think it gives the unit character.
We use quality wood screws (NOT NAILS) to assemble our racks, and import the actual dispenser that is attached, which is made from a combination of plastic, aluminum and metal.******
Two "d" ring hangers are included to be attached by purchaser for easy hanging.
